Born of a passion for jogging, the Baby Jogger Company was founded in 1984 when Philip Baechler, a journalist, decided that he wanted to keep jogging and also spend time with his infant son. Realizing that baby carriages were not suited for such purposes he designed a stroller better suited to running and long distance usage and he called it the Baby Jogger.

In 1986 The Twinner, a stroller made for two children and designed for serious joggers made its first appearance and for nearly a decade after that, many more models were released that eventually incorporated an easy folding technology that was later patented as the Quick Fold technology, now used in most of their strollers.

In 2003, The Bag Boy Company, a leader in golf push/pull cart markets bought out The Baby Jogger Company and in 2004, both companies were consolidated under a parent company called Dynamic Brands. They now introduced a fantastic change to their City Stroller series in the form of a front swivel wheel with a switch that locks the wheel for long straight walks and unlocks it for better maneuvering while shopping.
