Shelley Kennedy and her husband were expecting their first baby in 1998 and were desperate to decorate their baby’s room in an original way. Unable to paint the walls of their Chicago rented apartment, they chose a large canvas and painted a whimsical design on – creating their first magical mural for a nursery.

Soon, Shelley found herself creating art for her friends and families. Expecting her second baby, Shelley started her line of original art at home and began selling to baby boutiques in retailers in Chicago – thus were the simple beginnings of Drooz Studio.

A passion for art since childhood, a formal background in Art and Illustration and a degree in marketing give Shelley the edge she needs to get her creative work out to the right places. Inspired by her own children as well as children everywhere, Shelley creates wall hangings, wool rugs, name plaques, door tags and much more.
