Dwell was started in 1999 by Christiane Lemieux with the idea of bringing modern textile design developments to bedding. With a strong background in fashion designing and designing luxury home furnishings, Christiane lent her unique sense of style to Dwell. She was later joined by her husband Joshua Young (from a distinguished finance background) and also Jennifer Chused (who had designed for Donna Karan and ROOM, besides other fashion publications). With its spectacular creations, it did not take long for Dwell to become one of the leaders in the bedding market. With progress the company diversified into providing more home furnishing products and succeeded in creating a niche in the market.

With such terrific success in its adult line, Dwell decided to officially launch the brand Dwellbaby in 2002. This line of products features an excellent color scheme and also the highest level of quality that gives it a distinctive flavor, very different from the rest of the market.

Dwellbaby initially featured only crib bedding but it soon ventured forth to include other items like crib accessories, bibs, stuffed animals, towels, and stroller accessories.
